About Me
Hey there — I’m Haagon Lister. I'm a pastor, creative, outdoorsman, and storyteller with a deep love for God, people, and the power of visual media.
I serve as the pastor of a thriving, Spirit-filled church where faith meets real life, and the Gospel is lived out loud. But beyond the pulpit, you’ll often find me behind a camera lens, deep in an editing suite, or chasing the perfect light at golden hour.
My passion for art, photography, filmmaking, and storytelling is more than just a creative outlet — it’s a calling. I believe God speaks through beauty, motion, and moments, and I’ve made it my mission to capture and share those moments in powerful, moving ways.
When I’m not filming or pastoring, you’ll catch me outdoors — hunting, fishing, hiking, overlanding, camping, or riding motorcycles down forgotten back roads. Born in Southwest Arkansas and now rooted in East Texas, I carry a deep appreciation for the land, its people, and its stories.
I’m also a world traveler who’s explored over 8 countries, an author and self-publisher, and a family man who cherishes time with loved ones. My heart beats for God, family, the Church, my country, and the people of the world.
This website is where all of that converges — faith, film, photography, and life in motion. Thanks for stopping by. Let’s tell some stories that matter.
My Story: Dirt Roads, Film Rolls & Faith
I grew up where the pavement ends — deep in the woods of Southwest Arkansas, where the creeks ran clear and the bikes had no brakes. We rode everything that had wheels or a motor: bikes, 3-wheelers, dirt bikes — if it moved, we explored with it. No maps, no helmets, and no real limits. Just a bunch of kids fueled by curiosity, getting into places we probably weren’t supposed to be.
That wild, free childhood shaped me more than I realized. It taught me to love adventure, creativity, and the simple, beautiful things that don’t need a filter.
I was raised by a tribe of strong women — my mom and her sisters — with my grandparents playing a huge role in my life. Our family was soaked in creativity and grit. My aunt could paint the soul of a scene. Her husband could carve life into wood. My mom could turn scraps into something beautiful. My grandpa? He could fix anything with a handful of bolts and a prayer. And my great-grandmother once had a chance to tour with the New York Symphony — but chose family over fame.
We weren’t filmmakers. We weren’t photographers. But cameras were always around. I hated being in pictures… but hated not being in them even more. I was fascinated by those old film rolls — the mystery, the surprise of what you'd get back. It felt like magic.
Then came my first mission trip to Europe as a teenager. I brought a camera, and something clicked. I couldn’t stop capturing what I saw — the people, the places, the story unfolding in front of me. I’d love to say it all took off from there, but real stories take time to develop.
Years later, I saw a need in our church. We didn’t have fancy media teams or viral videos — but we had something worth sharing. So I taught myself to edit, film, and create. I made slideshows, highlight reels, and documentaries about what God was doing in our community.
People took notice. Suddenly I was creating highlight films for the local football team, crafting memorial videos, and documenting moments that mattered. But for years, I kept it on the side — a passion, not a profession.
That changed in 2023.
People started seeing my wildlife and landscape photography and asking for more. One project led to another, and then another. Until finally, I made it official:
Lister Publishing was born.
Now, I get to do what I love — telling stories through the lens. Whether it’s a legacy film, a church promo, a photo that freezes time, or a video that stirs the soul — I’m here for it. Not because it’s trendy, but because it means something.
At the end of the day, it’s not just about media.
It’s about moments, memories, and making people feel seen.
And honestly? My favorite part of every project is simple:
I get to hang out with people.
Your Vision, Your Style — My Creative Commitment
I love working with people who have a clear vision for their brand — or even just a spark of one. One thing I’ve noticed in the creative world is that many creators have one signature style. And while that’s great for personal projects, I believe it falls short when you're creating for someone else.
When I work with a client, I’m not here to stamp my brand over yours. I’m not interested in making your project look like “Lister Publishing.” I want your audience to see you — your voice, your message, your vibe — shining through the content.
That’s why you’ll notice a wide range of styles in my portfolio. Sure, there’s a touch of consistency because I’m behind the camera, but the tone, look, and feel shift from project to project. That’s intentional. My work takes on the personality, heart, and direction of the client, not my personal preferences.
I’m a creative who listens — really listens — and I care deeply about bringing your vision to life with excellence. Whether bold and cinematic or soft and soulful, I’ll meet you where your brand lives and help it speak loud and clear.
